We are looking for a Telecommunications or Computer Science engineer who wants to develop his/her professional career as a researcher in monitoring technologies for 5G and 6G mobile communication networks to join our headquarters in San Sebastian or Bilbao. Vicomtech is an applied research technology center, dynamic, innovative and leading in the field of digital media and communications technologies applied to industry (manufacturing, multimedia solutions providers, creative and cultural industries, etc.) with projects such as:

The selected person will join a team of 20 people with multidisciplinary knowledge within the Digital Media & Communications department of Vicomtech. The research staff at Vicomtech has creative freedom when conducting research, looking for creative solutions to scientific-technological challenges, so we are looking for a methodical, proactive and autonomous person who likes to train and address new challenges. Candidates must have:
- Education: Engineering or Degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science.
- Knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and knowledge of the TCP and UDP protocols.
- Experience in software development, preferably on a Linux environment, such as Python, C/C++, as well as experience with software version control systems such as Git.
- Experience in API consumption and implementation.
- Vocation to learn new technologies, new software development languages, the concepts of future advanced mobile communication networks (5G/6G) and next generation network monitoring standards.
- Vocation to develop professionally as a researcher in the contribution of scientific articles.
We value candidates:
- Experience in packaging containerized products (Docker), deployments and orchestration (Docker Compose, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience with open source data monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Knowledge of software deployment in Amazon AWS or similar.
- Knowledge of languages: Spanish, English and Basque.
- Master's degree in the area of telecommunications or computer science.
- Scientific publications as author or co-author of scientific articles in international conferences or scientific journals of international relevance.
