Researcher in Biomedical Simulation and Biomechanics

Investigador/a en Simulación Biomédica y Biomecánica

We are looking for motivated individuals with proven experience within the areas of biomedical simulation, (bio)mechanical engineering and software development, to be part of the personalized medicine and new therapies technology pipeline to participate in both collaborative fundamental research projects, European projects and/or industry-driven projects related to these technologies.

Candidates must show a proactive attitude for applied research, demonstrating an excellent scientific and/or technical background in the offered topic, a proven ability to work in a team and commitment to understand the needs of clients and project partners, as well as those coming from other projects and initiatives in this line of research. Candidates must also have the necessary programming skills to convert their knowledge into real software solutions.

Candidates must have:

  • Education:   
    • Bachelor's / Master's degree in areas related to biomedical and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience
    • Experience in simulation of tissue, implants and/or tessellated structures or other types of simulations or advanced computational modeling in the biomedical field.
    • Programming experience in software development with Python and C++.
    • Knowledge of machine learning is an asset.
    • Experience in the use of open-source tools (Git, FEBio, OpenSim, CompuCell 3D, or similar ...) and computational HPC systems will be an asset.
    • Experience with publications in the field of biomedical research will be an asset.
    • Motivation to acquire knowledge and new technical skills on a continuous basis.
  • Language skills:          
    • Essential medium-high level of English.
    • Medium-high level knowledge of Basque will be an asset.
