Vicomtech boosts STEAM talent for another year
The centre highlights its 2023 with its commitment to attracting talent, focusing on training and job opportunities for future researchers.

Vicomtech's main asset is its people. They lead the way to excellence, add value to the centre's activity and contribute to its raison d'être, being part of the Technology Transfer to the surrounding companies and institutions and contributing to universal knowledge.
For this reason, it is vital to focus on new talent. It is essential to understand that they represent the future, being a key and distinctive factor to achieve the mission of the centre: to respond to the needs of applied research, development and innovation of the environment. In this way, they will contribute to maintaining excellence and the generation of knowledge, constituting the next generation of researchers who will form part of the centre's future.
The numbers don't lie: this year, Vicomtech has incorporated 78 new members of staff, of which 58 have been researchers, as well as 80 active students. Of these, 10 had the opportunity to complete their Bachelor's Thesis and 12 their Master's Thesis. In addition, Vicomtech has collaborated in 7 doctoral theses, reaffirming once again its commitment to training.
In addition, more than 80 scientific articles and papers have been published under the name of Vicomtech, and more than 10 awards and recognitions have been received, thus contributing to the generation of universal knowledge by the centre's researchers. Similarly, participation in STEAM initiatives for young people has been promoted, such as Inspira Bizitzak, the organisation of competitions and technological challenges with the Algorithmics Academy, or the Girls and Women in Science Day, among others.
Within the framework of Vicomtech's activity, participation in projects compared to the previous year has increased by 9% in 2023, in addition to the development of strategic alliances, which this year has materialised with an increase of 4% more clients and partners.
2023 has been a year marked by new projects, alliances and new faces. At Vicomtech we are Artificial Intelligence, but above all, we are people. People with enthusiasm to contribute to our environment, to move towards a more digital future and with the desire to contribute day by day to universal knowledge, while at the same time adding value to our environment. We will continue working for a 2024 full of opportunities and new projects.
