Vicomtech hosts the VICOMTECH INDUSTRIAL DAY to discuss advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions applied to industry
The event analyses, together with industrial partners from the Basque Country, the current state of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, and the way in which Artificial Intelligence is applied to its enabling technologies such as Artificial Vision, Robotics or Virtual Environments, among others.

Vicomtech celebrates this Wednesday 9th October the VICOMTECH INDUSTRIAL DAY, to expose and analyse the advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions applied to industry.
This conference organised by Vicomtech, in collaboration with the main industrial partners of the Basque Country, analyses the current situation of the Industry 4.0 paradigm and the way in which Artificial Intelligence is applied to its enabling technologies such as Artificial Vision, Robotics or Virtual Environments, among others. VICOMTECH INDUSTRIAL DAY explores how these emerging technologies are transforming and revolutionising the concept of Smart Industry from a local and international perspective.
From the Applied Research point of view, VICOMTECH INDUSTRIAL DAY takes a look at the main technological trends that will be the driving forces of innovation for the Basque industrial fabric and that contribute to positioning companies in a highly competitive global context.
Some of the participating industrial companies and organisations are Gestamp, SEAT, CAF, BAIC, Gurutzpe, Biele Digital, Ingemat, Petronor and Vicomtech, making up a large panel of experts in advanced applications in industry based on AI. Through different interventions and panels, they have transmitted testimonies and real cases of the use and implementation of these technologies in their processes, many of them in collaboration with Vicomtech.
From the Applied Research point of view, during the day the perspectives of the industrial sector were be debated through testimonies and real cases of companies.
After an introduction by the General Director of Vicomtech, Julián Flórez, and the Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Basque Government, Jaione Ganzarain, the event was divided into two section, which, on the one hand, dealt with ‘Generative AI, key aspects and opportunities’, with presentations by CAF, SEAT, VICOMTECH and BAIC. The speakers presented real examples of the application and incorporation of Generative Artificial Intelligence in their production processes. The block ended with a panel discussion in which they had the opportunity to contrast their points of view and present their conclusions.
The second section focused on the ‘New era in Virtual Environments, Robotics and Artificial Vision’, and addressed the potential offered by combining them, showing some relevant cases with the latest innovations and technological applications in these areas presented by the participating companies.
The VICOMTECH INDUSTRIAL DAY has raised and exposed the most relevant and current technological trends in Industry 4.0 and Smart Industry. With a very relevant protagonism of the Basque industrial fabric formed by more than 100 delegates from different companies and entities of the Basque ecosystem, the day has been able to show the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Vision in the industrial field, and the challenges in the short, medium and long term, with direct testimonies of the participating companies.
The second section focused on the ‘New era in Virtual Environments, Robotics and Artificial Vision’, and addressed the potential offered by combining them, showing some relevant cases with the latest innovations and technological applications in these areas presented by the participating companies.
