Vicomtech, in collaboration with Fraunhofer IESE and NetApp, presents at Hannover Messe its digital solutions for integrating data spaces into manufacturing processes

In the framework of Hannover Messe, the world's largest and most important industrial fair, Vicomtech has presented together with Fraunhofer IESE and NetApp its advanced solutions for the integration of data spaces in manufacturing processes.

The trade fair is held annually in Hannover, Germany, and brings together leading companies in technology, automation, digitalization, energy and Industry 4.0. It is a key meeting point for companies, researchers and decision-makers looking to drive the industry of the future.

The key topic of this year's edition was “AI in the Industry”, a subject that Vicomtech's team was able to experience both as exhibitors in our joint stand with Fraunhofer IESE, and as visitors, where they could see first-hand what the main industrial players and agents are currently offering in terms of production and services and applied R&D.

The digital solution exhibited by Vicomtech in the collaborative stand together with Fraunhofer IESE, was the OaaS (Operator as a Service) remote operator, driven by Digital Twins, AAS and Eclipse Basyx, which provides an innovative model in which remote operators supervise manufacturing processes through digital twins.

In this vision, a highly skilled remote operator, equipped with advanced interaction technologies, simultaneously manages and controls multiple automated production lines. During the show, a remote demonstration was conducted together with operators who were physically present at Vicomtech.

Communication between the manufacturing processes and the OaaS is managed through Fraunhofer IESE's AAS Dataspace for Everybody. Both the manufacturing processes and the OaaS have their own AAS server, based on Eclipse BaSyx.

Likewise, Vicomtech presented its digital solutions for Industry to Katharina Heil, Ministerial Director for Science and Health of Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as to Prof. Antonio Krüger, CEO of DFKI (German Center for Artificial Intelligence), one of our partners and a reference in the European field of artificial intelligence. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to show him the latest applications developed in the field of AI for Industry. We also had the opportunity to meet members of the International Advisory Committee (IAC), Prof. Liggesmeyer and Prof. Wahlster.
