Vicomtech-IK4’s training session for FLL Euskadi 2014 teams in collaboration with Innobasque

Last November 4^th Vicomtech-IK4 held, in collaboration with Innobasque, a training session for the teams taking part in FLL (FIRST LEGO League) Euskadi, in which a total of 106 students and teachers from 6 education centres participated. During the session, researchers of the Interactive Computer Graphics Department of Vicomtech-IK4 showed the youngsters latest technologies in Emotional Computing, Virtual Characters, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and 3D-Postproduction in Videogames applied to education. Students were able to test first hand some of the technological developments.

FIRST LEGO League is an activity comprised in the “School of Innovation” of Innobasque. An out-of-classroom learning programme to attract young people (students aged 10 to 16) into science, technology and innovation in a creative, group and stimulating way. The aim is to teach them through the elaboration of a science-project, designing and programming Lego Mindstorm robot, and showing them the FLL values (team-work, innovation, etc.). Vicomtech-IK4 has participated with Innobasque in this project for the last 3 years to train these student groups.
