Outstanding projects: ETORTEK (HIZKING21, TARVITEK)

Vicomtech-IK4 is working in two projects of the Basque Goverment on the ETORTEK program:

• HIZKING21 : This strategic research project about Linguistic Info-Engineering, is leaded by Vicomtech-IK4 in the frame of the ETORTEK program of the Basque government. It is a join proposal between some research groups from the Basque Country (Vicomtech-IK4, Elhuyar, Robotiker, E.H.U/U.P.V Aholab, E.H.U/U.P.V IXA, ELEKA).

Vicomtech-IK4"s work is to act as a bridge between the international areas and the local context n the Basque autonomous community (C.A.V). The main mission will be to develop visual communication and interactive technologies based on the latest research about computer graphics , multimedia, and virtual reality among others.

• TARVITEK : The strategic research project on Virtual Reality is the joint proposal of a number of centres belonging to the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network: CEIT, EUVE, LABEIN, Vicomtech-IK4. Their main objective is to foster basic research into Virtual Reality and oriented towards the requirements of the globalized environment in which we live and to contribute to the scientific-technological, business and social aobjectives of the Basque Country.
