Hugo Daniel Rodríguez Arce receives the best Master's Thesis Award at the XXXIII Spanish Congress of Computer Graphics
The Vicomtech researcher from the Intelligent Security Video Analytics area receives the award at the Spanish Computer Science Congress held in A Coruña for his Master Thesis entitled "Leveraging text to image generation to train people detection and reidentification systems"
05.07.2024
Hugo Daniel Rodríguez Arce, researcher at Vicomtech is awarded in A Coruña for his Master's Thesis at the XXXIII Congreso Español de Informática Gráfica (CEIG'24).
The CEIG is one of the main discussion forums for computer graphics and visualisation researchers and professionals in Spain. The conference provides a platform for presenting the latest advances in all areas of computer graphics, and is the main forum for discussion and debate about new lines of research in development, the generation of ideas aimed at achieving a greater incorporation of Computer Graphics in education, and developments in the field of ICT.
Hugo's work focused mainly on the use of text-to-image generation models to create datasets for person detection and re-identification models. Among the main milestones of the project is the exploration of the limits of the image generation of the Stable Difussion machine learning model, in which an exploratory analysis of the text-to-image, image-to-image, inpainting and image-to-text generation pipelines has been carried out, as well as the use of model interpretability and explainability techniques to better understand the results obtained.
The prize awarded shows the high level of the researchers that make up the Centre, as well as demonstrating Vicomtech's commitment to promoting and influencing the new talents that represent the future of Innovation and Development not only of the centre, but also of our territory.
Congratulations, Hugo!
