Vicomtech participates one more year in Tecnosec with its commitment to Artificial Intelligence applied to Security
Tecnosec is the High Security and Intelligence Technologies, Drones and Anti-Drones fair, which has brought together the main agents of the Security and Intelligence sector in Madrid on May 8 and 9
14.05.2024
Vicomtech has had wide participation in the fair through the participation of David Ríos, Security Business Manager of the center in the round table “Artificial intelligence in security”, an exhibition on AI capabilities applied to the sector and a stand at the exhibition area.
David Ríos, Security Business Manager of Vicomtech, has participated in the round table “Artificial intelligence in security, automation of crime processes, support in criminology and forensics and processing of large volumes of information”, together with representatives of Telefónica Tech and DLT Code. In addition, the Vicomtech team has made a presentation on its capabilities and examples of international projects applied to the sector such as the LAGO Project, aimed, among other objectives, at designing a governance framework and procedures for a reliable data space and secure exchange between administrations and countries.
Vicomtech's commitment to security has been exhibited at a stand in the exhibition area where concerns, interests and needs related to the development and application of advanced digital technologies based on Artificial Intelligence have been shared, especially related to automatic image processing and analysis. and video, speech technologies and cybersecurity.
Specifically, automatic image and video processing and analysis allows us to address challenges in security areas such as border management, protection of critical infrastructure and public spaces, and illicit activities. For their part, speech and natural language technologies are key when it comes to streamlining police action in their interventions and online monitoring. These are useful, for example, when carrying out sentiment analysis, identifying people, suspicious speech, etc. With respect to digital security, Vicomtech technologies help detect anomalous transactional behavior associated with fraudulent online activities or secure management of digital identities.
The center is strongly committed to the development of technological solutions applied to security, as demonstrated by its extensive participation in European programs and initiatives. Vicomtech is in fact positioned as a leading international player in the development of security solutions based on Artificial Intelligence.
Based on the figures shown by the results of these competitive programs, Vicomtech, due to the excellent evaluation of its proposals, is the State's technological center most funded by the European Commission on the topic of H2020 Safe Societies and the second beneficiary entity of those nationally competitive funds. The Center is therefore strongly positioned within the framework of the European research and technological innovation program for security.
Vicomtech's extensive technological background, its resources, and its capacity to develop flexible solutions adapted to the specific problems of the Security Forces and Corps, make these technologies that are researched, developed and applied at the Center a key factor for enabling advanced security capabilities.
